I was really dreading this morning’s Weigh-In.
July was an Orgy of Food. Eating out a LOT. I indulged at Brewfest.
I ate tons of good food at my family reunion.
And I’ve been training for Hood to Coast. It’s fairly common to GAIN weight when training for an event.
So as you can imagine, I was filled with anxiety when I stepped on the scale today. And I was completely surprised by the number!
Um….149 even? I lost 3.2 pounds since I weighed in on July 1st?
So. Confused. But happy!!
In July I weight 152.2. I now weigh 149. I lost half an inch around my waist and half an inch around my hips. Surprisingly I also lost 1.5 inches around my thighs!
I’m completely baffled at the loss but dang, it felt great to see that number! Once again, I am under 150. My hope is to lose a few more pounds so that I’m back to the weight I was before the meds packed on 15 pounds.
QUESTION: How are your summer goals going?
Wow congrats!! I love surprise losses!
It was a NICE surprise for a change!
Wow, congratulations, that’s fantastic! My summer goals are going well. Exercise and food are good, even if the scale is moving at a snail’s pace for someone my size. I’m happy with my overall conditioning though, and feel great.
Losing weight slowly sucks, but it’s healthier.
Way to go!
Congrats!! That’s always a great feeling!!
Skinny Sweaty Betty!

You just never know. Sometimes when we are in a calorie deficit for so long, the body gets used to it. Then when you eat more, your body realizes it isn’t starving and drops more weight. Whatever it was – yay!
LOL! That is too funny, but true. I’ve experienced it before. I think with last summer’s scenario though, the overeating was compounded with the medication that = weight gain. Whatever it is, I’ll take it!
Oh wow, that’s awesome! surprise losses are the best! Congrats!
Wow – congrats!!!! Awesome job!
That’s awesome! You’re totally giving your body what it needs right now!
Yippee! Fantastic work–and you look great!
Congratulations – you must feel great, and what a pleasant surprise.
One of my goals this year was to take my sister to Montreal for a weekend, which we did about a week ago. It was fun to spend time with her, to show her around one of my favorite cities, and to actually cross something off my list.
The furthest east in Canada I’ve been is Alberta. I’d love to see Montreal and Toronto!
Congrats on the weight loss!
