what a great way to use one of my favouite vegetables!

I”m so glad you made that! Glad it turned out great.

Next you can try the corn salad with Chili Cheese Fritos. OMG it’s so good! (You could keep out a portion for yourself without the Fritos, which are not good for you whatsoever!)

It was a great recipe! In fact, I’m making it tomorrow for the work potluck too.

Instead of raisins, we use dried cranberries. And slivered almonds too. It’s my fav salad by a long shot!

Good call on the almonds. I hadn’t thought about that. I thought about adding Craisins but I was out of them. I also thought chopped celery might be good too.

Yum! I haven’t made broccoli salad in a long time so I will just use your recipe!

It’s a good one. Try it!

He’s doing so much better! I have an updated post for tomorrow about how he’s doing. 🙂 Thanks for checking on him.

We had an issue with one of our dogs a few weeks ago–she has multiple health problems and seemed cold so I put a sweater on her. She stopped eating, acted very lethargic, and we couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her. This lasted almost 2 days. I took the sweater off and it was a miracle! 100% recovered now. We have put the “sweater of death” away so it can’t hurt anyone else (turns out she just hated wearing it so much she refused to do anything). I understand how it is when one of your pets is sick. It’s the worst feeling in the world when you don’t know what’s wrong with them or how to help them. I’m glad he’s doing well.

LOL! The sweater sounds funny. At least you figured it out and he got better!

I was so anxious about my baby. He is my first pet I’ve ever had and I’ve had him almost 10 years now. I am so glad he’d doing better. I can breathe a sigh of relief.

I just made broccoli salad the other day, using a slightly different approach: dried cranberries, cashews, red onion, and then a fairly sweet vinaigrette-type dressing (lemon juice, oil, sugar, dijon mustard, salt). The dressing actually tasted too sweet for my current tastes. I’ve been thinking about making the mayonnaise version, but using plain yogurt for about half of the mayo, to make it a little healthier.

The vinaigrette dressing sounds good too. Maybe not sweet but the tart flavor. I made the broccoli salad again for a work event and I used 1/2 cup of mayo and then 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt. Next time I’d use more Greek yogurt and less mayo I think.

I find that removing the sugar, honey and everything else sweet from a salad usually improves the flavor of the other ingredients – and breaks the sweet taste buds from seeking sugar in everything.
