Thanks for the book recommendation….my daughter was adopted from China (similar circumstances are likely for her, though we’ll never know for sure). Though their stories break my heart, I feel compelled to read books like the above to keep me grounded in my daughter’s “roots”

That’s wonderful that your daughter is from China. When I was seriously looking into adoption a few years ago I thought about that. It’s so horrible what certain countries do to unwanted baby girls!

The book is good–you would really like it. It’s not a total downer, but definitely emotional.

Best decision EVER! I was approaching my 34th birthday with no “husband” material in sight … so, I took the desire to be a mom into my own hands and now I couldn’t imagine my life without her!

That was one of the reasons I looked into adopting. I knew I wanted kids, I knew I wanted to adopt, and I didn’t feel like I “needed” to be married to do so. In the end it was the cost that made me put my dreams on hold but someday I will adopt. 🙂

That rose bush is beautiful! Roses are one of my favorite flowers 😀

We have some pretty roses in our yard. My favorite flowers are probably lillies.

    Great job at the gym!

I was just trying to find a new book to read today–I’m going to see if my library had The Secret Daughter. It sounds very interesting!

I’d be curious to see what you think of the book if you try it.

I’m also trying to shift my gym time to the am. I’m struggling hard with the waking up part, but always happy when I’m all worked out for the day!!

The secret daughter sounds like a great read. I adore Indian literature so I’ll try to get a hold of it. I’d also suggest “The last song of dusk”, it’s absolutely beautiful.

I will check out that book too! Thank you!
