As a motorcyclist, I would always wait at a a light for 2-3 cycles if nobody was around. If it didn’t turn green for me after 5 or 6 minutes and it was clear, I would go. I’m not sure what the exact law on that is, though.

I bet it’s scary for a motorcyclist too. I see cars aggressive with motorcycles all the time. 🙁

Holy smokes Lisa, that was a nasty close call yesterday!!! There are so many drivers around who have NO respect for cyclists!!! Glad you came out unscathed!!

It was definitely scary. I hope I shamed that woman! She’s awful!

Oh wow! That is scary! Yesterday I saw a guy come toa rolling stop onto a crosswalk and almost hit this woman WALKING her bike across the street. And then he started to scream at her to watch where she was going and just because she was a biker doesn’t mean she doesn’t have to follow the rules of the road. She stopped walking, turned around and yelled “You are on top of the cross walk, a cop could pull you over for how you are stopped right now. How about you focus on your “rules” and I will focus on the actual rules of the road”. The guy was dumbfounded, it was totally awesome.

Good for her!! I’m glad she told that guy off. It’s outrageous some of the stuff I see. Even as a pedestrian I’ve had run-ins!

There are some lights around here that are on trigger and cyclists just can’t trigger it, so we will go through those after waiting a bit, particularly for our early Sunday rides because there is no traffic.

We are definitely getting colder around here. I will bike until it is below freezing, but then I don’t like it so much. We don’t bike around here in winter because with the snow it is too dangerous to be on more narrow road with the cars and many people don’t shovel their walks, so sidewalks are out.

It was a busy intersection and there’s no way I could have just gone through it, or wait for a car to come on my side and trigger it.

I just got some cold weather gear to prepare me. I hope I can last a little while longer. 🙂
