That looks like such an amazing time. I’m jealous you can hike this time of year. We don’t have snow gear to hike in the weather we have now!

Yes, it was a really nice weekend weather wise and being able to hike in the winter is nice! The trails are less crowded.

Were you able to leave Bella in your room when you went out for dinner and to the casino? It seems like most of the hotels in Newport will fine you if you do that. πŸ™

No, we left her in the car. Our car has the ability to leave the heat on while off and the backseat is covered. We were never in the casino or restaurant for more than 1 hour at a time. I didn’t want to leave Bella in the hotel. She probably would have freaked out. So she would fall asleep in the car and then wake up when we got back. πŸ™‚ We won’t be able to do that in the summer time so we’ll probably do things where she can come too (like if we eat out we’ll go to food carts or something so we’re outside with her).

That makes sense! We’ve taken our dog over to Newport for the day and he loved it. When we went we were able to park right across the street from where we had dinner so he was actually able to see us the entire time and we left the windows down. The nice thing about the coast is that it’s pretty much always weather where you can leave a dog in the car if the windows are down!

The coast is nice that way.The weather is pretty mild year-round. This weekend it was in the mid-50’s. Except on the beach, it was a little cold.

I’m super neurotic and I wanted Michael to park the car close to wherever we were so I could see the car/Bella or it wasn’t too far away.

Always lots of great places for dogs in Portland in the summer. It’s an adjustment but you won’t have any problem. We took Cady everywhere. Max doesn’t even know how fun it’s gonna be (though we did go to a doggy bday party lady weekend at a diner, and he loved it). Happy happy birthday! This year seems extra special.

Hahaha! I cannot wait to meet Max. When are you guys coming down again?

Only just come across your blog AND love your trail pictures.

The food looks pretty amazing too but as I eat a low carb, high fat, moderate protein lifestyle I don’t eat potatoes, rice, pasta, etc. But steak and salad or steak and green vegetables great …… and as for scallops with broccoli amazing food.

    I enjoyed reading, thank you.

    All the best Jan

Seriously there was a Groupon for this place?? THat french toast is huge. HUGE!! We did not order it the day we went, but we did see it come out. Our meals came with the same HUGE bread. I love the hike you did, that looks great, I will have to remember that for the next time we go there. Looks like a great weekend. And by the way your dog is so cute!!

    1. Lisa Eirene

There wasn’t a groupon for the restaurant but for the hotel (which gave us a coupon for the breakfast).
