That’s super exciting! I’m bummed it isn’t available online. Maybe set up a video camera in front of the tv and record while it’s playing? lol… ghetto but whatevs.

    1. Lisa Eirene

I was thinking that was an option. LOL

  2. Beth @ Beth's Journey

Wow Lisa how awesome that you got that experience!!! It must have been SO surreal to see yourself on TV!

    1. Lisa Eirene

It was a fun but WEIRD experience for sure!

  3. Becky

Good thing you look good when sweaty! I would’ve died if I was on the news after a workout. I can’t believe you only had an hour before they interviewed you! Crazy!

  4. Roz@weightingfor50

OMG, OMG!!!! How exciting Lisa!! So thrilled for you and the accolades are well deserved. You ARE truly an inspiration and I’m glad your story is being shared. Have a great day.

Thank you for the support Roz!!!

  5. Lori

Congratulations and how exciting! You deserve it!
I would die if I had to be filmed sweaty LOL. I am really a mess πŸ˜€

I hope you get the clips up.

    1. Lisa Eirene

You have no idea how horrified I was that she didn’t want me to shower and dress normally. I hadn’t plucked my eyebrows in a week. My hair was a mess. It was awful. πŸ˜‰

  6. Kris

congrats again, Lisa! I was home cooking dinner with the news on, and suddenly there you were! such a surprise and so cool! πŸ™‚

did you ask them (the news channel, or even the reporter who originally emailed you?) if they have a clip they can send? there has to be one! πŸ™‚

    1. Lisa Eirene

I did email the reporter and she never responded. I took your advice and emailed the GM of Katu. I hope someone takes pity on me! πŸ˜‰

  7. Deb

That’s so awesome! I mean really, how cool is that?

Sorry I can’t help you on the DVR question, we don’t even have a DVR… lol.

    1. Lisa Eirene

      SOMEONE has to know!!! πŸ˜‰

  8. Alleigh

That’s awesome…congratulations! I’m sure you’ll hear back from the station. Most local stations are willing to give you clips of the interview that was aired…although, be warned, they may ask you to pay for it.

    1. Lisa Eirene

I would happily pay a little bit for the video! I just want a copy!:)

  9. Lisa

Do you have TiVo or do you have a DVR through your cable provider? My understanding is that you can transfer a TiVo file to the computer, but some DVR recordings from the local cable provider’s box can’t be transferred. It has to do with the interface between the recording device and your computer (or your network).

Congratulations being featured on the news! Sorry you weren’t able to dress up!

    1. Lisa Eirene

We do not have TiVO. It’s a DVR from the cable company. πŸ™ I might just film it with a camera to at least have some footage…

  10. Suzanne @WorkoutNirvana

Woweeee! Sounds kind of hair-raising but you handled it with finesse of course! The whole being sweaty requirement: OMG. I don’t know how I’d feel about this! Again, great job πŸ™‚

    1. Lisa Eirene

Trust me, I was NOT excited about being sweaty on TV. LOL

  11. Colleen

Congratulations! It’s wonderful to be recognized for your achievement – drink it in!

    1. Lisa Eirene

Thank you Colleen! It was a nice way to start 2012, if you ask me. πŸ™‚

    You so famous!
I’d guess if you have a cord where you can connect your TV to your computer then somehow you could get it? But I’d shoot for bugging the TV station more.

    1. Lisa Eirene

I did and got a response from the GM who said no go. Lame.

  13. Lisa

Wow, that’s crazy that it was so spur of the moment. Congrats on the story! I can’t help you with the DVR problem. Sorry! Like someone else said, I think you can get a DVD or tape of the news broadcast if you contact the station.

    1. Lisa Eirene

At first I thought the email was spam. But yes, it was totally last minute and literally “Are you available in an hour?” kind of a thing!

  14. sugarmagnolia70

oh my gosh, Lisa, I’m so proud of you! You are truly amazing!

  15. Alan (Pounds Off Playoff)

Lisa, that sounds like quite an experience! You must have a lot of grace to handle that kind of timeline. Well deserved.

    1. Lisa Eirene

I had help. I texted Michael from the gym with the news and he KINDLY cleaned the house up while I drove home (maybe speeding a little bit). LOL

  16. Diane Fit to the Finish

Building that platform one piece at a time!! Go girl!!

    1. Lisa Eirene

Yes!! I was so excited about it. I also shared my news with the reporter that I wrote a book I wanted to get published. Unfortunately, she cut that out of the interview. Oh well. πŸ™‚

  17. Samantha
