It is SO frustrating to be doing everything right and have the scale not respond 🙁 I know the scale is just a number, but one would hope for some little encouragement that one were on the right track to getting back to one’s happy weight, wouldn’t one? Grrr….

I had given up alcohol for all except Super Bowl weekend, and the scale kept creeping up. Had 2 weekends in a row with social events where I drank and, shazam! scale was down 3 1/2 lbs. I can’t figure it out and am trying not to tell myself the Universe WANTS me to drink! LOL

    Hang in there, Lisa!

Hahaha! Look at that. Perhaps my body wants a few glasses of wine as well. 🙂

Yes, it’s frustrating. For some reason I CANNOT disregard the number on the scale and tell myself “it doesn’t matter” as long as I’m healthy and happy and my clothes fit. The number on the scale STILL has a huge effect on me.

        Yeah…me too 🙁

I was recently having the same problem and my doctor told me to really work on my food since the kitchen is where you do the work on losing weight. She also told me to stop weighing myself so often and to judge things by how I feel/clothes fit. You probably already knew that but I thought that was interesting.

I think stressing about weight can cause a bit of a gain. Every time I freak out about my weight I notice I gain a bit back. Which sucks!! I feel your pain and I am sorry!!

I hope things get better really soon 🙂

Agreed. Food is usually the issue. I may be lazy with my measuring, maybe I’m not eating the right foods, it could be a lot of things. I need to re-evaluate that for sure.

Hmmm. Interesting.I recently had all this blood work done for my life insurance policy. I’ll got back into the report to see if my cortisol levels were part of the study. I’m curious.

I’m sure it’s normal for you!

Sorry you are so frustrated. It is hard to get older and struggle with the weight loss when what worked before doesn’t work so well now. I am right there with you on that.

It sucks when what worked stopped working! Ugh!

Well, at least you know your cortisol numbers are normal! I can’t remember if you’ve done a sleep study or not – my husband slept horribly, only to find out that he had sleep apnea (sp?) and once he got his c-pap machine it was a whole new world – he actually didn’t move the first night he wore it, and I kept getting up to make sure he was okay – ha!

I’m curious about the sleep study. I’m pretty sure I don’t have sleep apnea. I’ve had insomnia for years and toss and turn and struggle to fall asleep. Once I’m asleep I’m ok.
