Sounds like you made the best of your time! I love getting in great workouts like that. The weather has been crap around here too. I just spent 3 hours this morning freezing my butt off outside riding. When will summer come? 😉

I don’t think we get a summer this year! It rained like cats and dogs yesterday and today is gloomy and dark! Yuck!

What do I do in my downtime? Well, it’s funny you should mention that, because I finally have some downtime today and I don’t know what to do with myself. I woke up at 6 am, went grocery shopping, did some laundry, and now…..? who knows?I think I need a hobby, but for now I’ll just hang out on the internets.

Sometimes I feel that way too….like I have free time, what should I do?

That pizza looks A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. My favorite downtime activity? Reading blogs 🙂

That’s a good way to relax. I do that too.

Ugggh, I hate being sore for days like that! Good idea to use less weight! Hope you’re not too sore today/tomorrow!
Yum, I’m a huge fan of home-made pizza! It looks delicious!

It’s nice being sore because it means I did GOOD! but limping for days is no fun.

You know, I was finding all kinds of ‘flaws’ with my body when I stayed off the scale. It’s almost like we need to find something else to focus on.

I love to putter in my garden with down time, or relax with a book.

BTW – I ate about 3100 calories on the long ride day. That is about as much as I could take in with having no appetite.

That’s interesting that you had that “mental” reaction without the scale. I thought going scale free would allow me to recognize that I’m more than the number on the scale, that other benchmarks of health are more important. Instead it’s like the opposite is happening– I’m less satisfied with my body and I’m critical of how I look. Will it go away?

3k calories sounds about right. On long bike rides like that I can either be famished OR I totally lose my appetite and struggle to eat the calories I burned.

In my downtime, I love to read books – spend time with my kids – and just hang out!

I love to read too. I read A LOT!
