Get in all the naps you can (that Logan will let you) before you go back to work!

I know! Those first few days back are probably going to be so hard!

Wow – you certainly are being active! That’s great! How much longer do you have maternity leave for?

I have a few weeks left and then I go back to work part time.

You’re doing a great job at keeping active. I was a big lazy bum on maternity leave and my youngest is 2 and I’m still trying to lose the last 10-15 pounds and have taken up running to do it. I started the Couch25k at the end of March and am now up to running 6km without any walking breaks, but it’s taking me 37 minutes to run it….so hopefully I’ll start picking up the pace and not running like a grandma…because it isn’t helping on weight loss (probably because I’m still eating copious amounts of food).
The activity will really help as you transition back to work….even though you’ll still have new-mom exhaustion, the exercise will give you a boost of energy that will be a godsend for when you come home from work and suddenly have those nights with a fussy baby…..

I think being active has helped me feel more like myself and like my “old self” too. I was definitely feeling a bit out of sorts those first few weeks. Days were blending together, I was exhausted, not sleeping well, not feeling energetic. Like you said, doing some activity has helped boost my energy levels. My hope is that it will help when I go back to work instead of making me even more tired!

Good job on doing Couch 2 5k! I really liked that program. In fact, I should probably start using the app again to get back into running. I completely forgot I had it. 🙂
