Plant fresh herbs, peppers, and tomatoes!! =)

I wish I had a garden… we just have a few pots out with herbs but no veggies and I wish we did!

So far I think we’re going to do: tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, lettuce, onions, herbs and jalapenos. I’d like to plant strawberries but I’m the only one that will eat them (which is okay with me!).

My oregano and thyme are doing amazingly well. My basil and cilantro are not.

My greens are starting to sprout! Kale, chard, collards, and arugula. We also planted squash varieties and some green onions that aren’t showing any sign of life just yet.

My advice for planting is to make sure you get stuff you like and are going to legitimately use. That’s why I did mostly greens and herbs. We go through that stuff like it is candy.

Tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro love a lot of sun so I shied away from those given how last summer went here and it’s been a late crummy Spring. Hope that helps.

Oh, and we are doing mint in separate pots (since it is invasive) but it does really well also.

Good to know about the mint being invasive!

We eat an insane amount of veggies and salad stuff. So we’ll plant a bunch of that. I forgot about the squashes. We need to plant those too.

We’re going to plant in shifts…Like just a few things this week and then in a few weeks a little bit more. Hopefully that way it won’t ALL be ripe at the same time!

Super! How fun to be able to bike to work. Good for your body AND the environment!
