A big virtual high five for hopping on the scale and course correction. So many people don’t do this ( I was one of them for about 5 years- hiding and not taking action, it didn’t work so well for me!).

Another virtual high five for eating real food. It will take you so, so far- good nutrition, cell signaling, becoming a fat burner vs a sugar burner, mood, appetite. Unbelievable how many good things are in the foods that are right for your goals, genetics, etc.

Onward and I love it that you posted your weight graphs. Double bravo and here’s to the strength, courage, and work that it takes. The outcome is so, so worth it. Karen P

Thank you so much for the support! It definitely sucked big time seeing the number. It was disheartening but I knew I had to see it and get back on track. I didn’t want it to get worse. I’m still struggling…been back for about 2 weeks and back to eating healthy and working out consistently BUT I find myself slipping on occasion. Still trying to get my mojo back.

You and I weigh exactly the same today! (Not sure if that makes you feel better – probably not, but I thought I’d mention it) I weighed 144 in July after some crazy dieting. πŸ™ So we’re recommitted – let’s do this! I don’t exercise near as much as you do so I assume you’ll lose it faster, but just know we’re in this together.

Thank you so much for the encouragement! It’s frustrating because while I do workout consistently, it’s not like the weight melts off. It’s just so slow at this point…..

You will be fine. And don’t regret the weight gain. It’s just a consequence of your actions and those actions were worth it!

Also – be patient. It seems to take so much longer now for weight to come off after you have been maintaining for a while (or maybe you will be fortunate πŸ˜€ )

Had a great honeymoon, good food, lots of Bloody Mary’s. πŸ˜€ It was nice. And yes, it’s a LOT harder to lose weight now. It’s such a slow process where before I would see a consistent loss each week. Now I’m lucky if I lose 1 pound a month!

I have to second Karen’s high five. It is so hard to fave the scale after a disruption in your routine that you know has resulted in weight gain. That’s always how I gain weight back–hiding from the scale. But you enjoyed your wedding and now you are back on track. I’m sure that small gain will normalize ASAP.

Thanks Joy. It’s definitely a dream-crusher. Back from vacation, feeling happy and relaxed and then back to reality…..!

Girl, you are doing great. You enjoyed your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon to its fullest and now are ready to get going again. You rock. And I must say that all your healthy eats look fabulous, too.

    Cheers to you!

We did enjoy the honeymoon. Truly paradise!
      Thanks Carrie. πŸ™‚

Well, back to the real world! You were smart to immediately lace up and get moving again.

I’m in Hawaii (Oahu) right now, visiting family and working remotely! The problem is I’m working on a Portland schedule so I’m up at 5am and working til 2pm, but then hanging out with my brother and SIL til 10pm in Hawaii. I’m screwing up my sleep and also my meal times! it’s only 11am here and I’ve already had breakfast and lunch, but dinner is still at least 7 hours away.

Oh well, it’s only a week, and I’ll take a page from your book in terms of making smart choices now and leaping back into action when I get home. And yeah, mai tais are SO GOOD. I’ve only had one so far this trip.

    1. Lisa Eirene

Oooh that sounds good to me! I definitely want to go to Oahu someday.
Sorry your times are all screwed up. It definitely took me some time to adjust when we were there. It was weird to go back 3 hours. It was nice when we first got there because it made our first day really long but I was waking up at like 7am every morning on vacation!

If you were counting calories those two weeks that would have been a bummer – you will never have a honeymoon again that’s a once in a lifetime! Good for you for getting back on track the next day instead of waiting until the infamous Monday. You will get back to your fighting weight in no time.

    1. Lisa Eirene

Yeah I agree, it would have taken all the fun out of being on vacation.

You aren’t supposed to count calories on your honeymoon! I know the gain sucks (I’m up 4 kilos since the wedding) but you are supposed to kick back and enjoy yourself. You’ll never go on honeymoon again, so try not to worry about it. A lot will probably be water weight from eating out and travelling. Weigh again in 2 weeks and you might be pleasently surprised!

    1. Lisa Eirene

Yep, next week I’m checking in on the scale. Time will tell…
