AWWWWWWWW!!!!! Those kitties! I’m excited for you – dog walking will be great. We had a class at my old gym called “group power” it was very “body pump” like. I loved it. I wish that gym would come back! (they had to vacate because the building it was in was rezoned, torn down and is now a building of condos)
    Have a wonderful Friday Lisa!!!

Oh bummer! Sorry about your gym.

The kitties were adorable and so social!

Body Pump is a great class–I was taking it for a while. Unfortunately, I have a really hard time getting to classes with my kids in tow (they are sick, or we’re running late, etc), so I’ve been trying to do some strength training at home. Anyway, I’m glad you like it!

I feel ya! I don’t have kids but it’s still really hard for me to get to class on time.

I LOVE Body Pump, and used to go all the time. Since I’ve moved and joined a new gym, I no longer have access to it, and I miss it! I always enjoyed the music, and knowing that I was getting a full body workout without having to think about it. Just follow the directions! 🙂

It did seem pretty easy to pick up. I didn’t feel totally lost like I usually do in classes.

We had Mexican on Wednesday before Valentine’s Day too.
After I kept talking about your heart monitor, my DH suprised me with one for my birthday last week. I really like seeing how many calories I burned. I’m also impressed that it syncs up (somehow!) with the cardio machines and has the exact # of calories and HR as my monitor.
    Thanks for all the inspiration!

That’s so cool! I’m glad you finally got one and you’re loving it. I love mine and I couldn’t live without it.

How is your challenge going? I’ve been reading your updates. Hope you aren’t feeling miserable!

That Mexican food looks sooooooo damn good! But what I really want are those cats. Seriously, just give me the cats and no one gets hurt.

Glad to see you’re training smart. Don’t screw around with knee injuries . . . I tore both my menisci, one right after the other, and still have knee issues to this day. Train legs when your knees are feeling good and go easy when they’re not.

Oh, and you seriously need to start a food porn site. All your glorious food pictures are just killing me.

    Cheers!

      Do you have any cats?

Expect to see lots of dog and at pictures in the coming months. 🙂

I always crave Mexican food. And sushi.

I have no pets. But I definitely need a cat. When I was growing up, at one point we had 8 cats. Only 4 or 5 of them were originally ours. The rest just moved in on their own. Maybe it was all the food my mom would leave out for them. That’s probably why I’m a cat person to the core. Dogs not so much.

        Cheers!

I love my two cats. I can’t imagine my life without them!

As the co-owner of four cats, I say: get a cat 😉

    1. Lisa Eirene

Haha!! I have two cats and I would happily get a few more!!!!!

I’m in a long distance relationship so I spent my Valentines day with my mum and an Indian takeout. You are not alone not spending it with your man! I did see him the next day, though, and was very spoiled.

YAY for dog walking! A great way to help doggies in need.

I have tried body pump. I love classes, but I found that I didn’t like that one. I think I just prefer to do my weights alone – Its my zone time.

    1. Lisa Eirene

It sounds like a nice day though. You went alone and you got Indian food!! I’m jealous. 🙂

As for body pump, I like it because I needed to change things up. My routine was stale. I also needed some weight workouts. My brain only remembers a few of the moves so the class taught me some new ones.

We got our dog from a lab rescue – and they had people volunteer to take the dogs on long walks – its key to their health.

Great job on eating at a Mexican restaurant, although I’ve never heard of dairy in refried beans, unless they top it with Mexican cheese?

At my old gym they had a great body pump class – sadly most of the classes at my new gym are during the day – its in a very affluent neighborhood, so I guess they think that all the women are stay at home moms?

    Happy Monday!

That’s what the director was saying. The dogs in the shelter get out of their crates several times a day for walks and then playtime with the other dogs. I agree, I think it’s crucial for healthy animals.

Not sure where I read that refried beans has dairy in it, but I did see it somewhere. So just to be safe I’m avoiding it.

As for body pump–thankfully my gym has a lot of options for times. Some of them are inconvenient for me, though. Like pilates–I’ve wanted to take that for YEARS but the only class is in the middle of the day when I’m at work. 🙁
