WHAT DID YOU CALL ME ?!?!?!

    Kidding.

I’m all for the Burger Quest. I sound like a broken record, but maybe we can split one!

You guys have to meet our other friends in PDX. Josh was telling us about curing prosciutto on a salt block that his friends brought over and just eating it as it cured. ohmygod. He was super excited though his wife looks at us like “Are you normal people?”

We have also talked about doing a Pizza Quest. So much food, so little time.

PS I lost .2 lbs this week even after the Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese. 🙂

HAHA! I almost titled the post something about “Red Headed Sluts” but thought better of it. 😀

We’d love to meet other foodies in Portland! Sounds like fun to me. I am all for a Burger Quest and I am a-okay with splitting a burger too. I asked Michael last night but he wasn’t having any of that.

Yeah, Chris looks at me like I’m a crazyhead when I suggest we split something. Except if we’re at Disneyworld. Then he knows it’s the right thing to do (their portions are notoriously humongous).

There’s a Pizzacato right down the street from us. We’ll have to check it out. Along with the Pastini that’s there. (ok, I’m almost tired of talking about food)

Michael will split things with me once in awhile. We used to be really good about splitting entrees. Then we got into the bad habit of just over eating.

Pizzicato is great! Get the puttanesca pizza. YUM.

Pastini has good mac n’ cheese but the place feels kinda “chain restaurant-ish”…

Not indulging at restaurants is tough. I easily do better with my eating when I don’t eat out. The main thing that motivates me to eat in is not losing weight, but saving money and not wasting food. I don’t know how many times I’ve passed up a restaurant or offer to go out to dinner because I had leftovers at home.

Best burger I’ve had in a sit-down restaurant was the Father’s Office burger (photo). It’s not too huge like some other pricier restaurant burgers (it’s about $15). I love toppings like lettuce, tomato, avocado, onions, etc, but sometimes they make the burger sloppy. The kobe beef in the burger is delicious, but the real star, at least for me, is the caramelized onions. I took my younger brother to FO for his birthday a few years ago. We both got burgers. My brother devoured his and I ate half of mine. I told him to take the rest home. He said he made it less than half the way home before digging in to the to-go box. Ah, boys and their metabolism and appetites.

That’s a good point, I feel bad about “Wasting” food or spending a lot of money so I’ll over eat so I don’t waste any of it.

      That burger looks killer!

Jagermeister….. shudders. We used to call it Yakermeister in college! LOL.

There were 2 burgers I really remember. One was at Famous Dave’s. Yes – I know, I chain! However, the flavor of their burger was outstanding!

The other place is the Cupcake Lab in Saratoga that we do our cupcake rides to. They serve a burger from a local farm and it is fabulous! Although ginormous.

John and I like to split entrees. I am really lucky with that. Makes for a cheap date, too.

This made me laugh – “When it arrived I gasped in horror. Michael’s eyes got humongous with glee.”
The burgers look delicious! I like to go to Red Robin for the burgers and the fries, and thank goodness there isn’t one nearby. I haven’t found a “local” burger place, since BBQ is more the local fare.

Yeah that’s a pretty common reaction between the two of us! 🙂
