Have you read The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver? It’s really good. And she is an author that I just love.

I LOVE the pictures across the top of your blog. They say so much. You’ve come a long way, baby. šŸ™‚

Aw Michelle thanks! I love looking at the banner once in awhile to remind myself.

I haven’t read that book but I’ll check it out.

Have you read “the girl with the dragon tattoo” trilogy? Awesome series.
I keep thinking I’ll start making monthly goals…..and then I forget. šŸ˜‰ Keep rockin’ on girl!

I read the first two books of the series but haven’t read the last yet.

Summer is hard- it seems like EVERYTHING revolves around food. It’s almost as bad as the holidays!
My August goals are to stick to my marathon training plan and ride my bicycle to campus at least 2x per week. (Its 16 miles round trip and takes about 40 minutes each way- not bad!)

16 miles is great. That’s close to what I do when I bike to work.

Hi Lisa, congrats on the July goals and good luck on the August ones. I have NO doubt you’ll meet them all!!!!! I so understand about summer being great, but everything really DOES revolve around food doesn’t it? Like you, I’m determined to enjoy it, portion control when I can, and be grateful for the activities, our friends and the warm weather. Have a great day!!!!

Thanks Roz! Family and food always go hand in hand.

For me the hardest thing in the summer is finding activities to beat the heat. I’m in Central Florida and it hot hot hot in the summer time. All these fun activites you are talking about are better for us in the fall/winter/spring.

I bet that’s a challenge. It’s not really an issue in Oregon but the winters are hard because of the rain.
