Well done!! That’s a great mileage tally for the day!

And yeah–the rocks under the bridge are a bit unnerving.

It felt very strange to drive to work today!

    Hi Lisa,
Love the title of this post….and that you went all that way! Congrats. Have a great day.

Haha, glad you liked the title. It was so cool to bike from the house. And by myself!

AWESOME! You know how much I like riding when there is a “destination”! I am so glad you did this. I bet you felt empowered doing it by yourself! Woo Hoo!!!

A challenge that I have faced recently would have to be my foot issues and not being allowed to do any weight bearing exercises. Rather than sit and feel sorry for myself and put myself at risk for gaining my weight back… I got a personal trainer to come work my butt off from a chair, I actually lost weight, and the best thing…. I learned about blogging and started a blog and met many many fabulous friends!!! 🙂 So, my foot issues actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

It DID feel empowering to do it by myself! I realized that this morning when I was driving to work. It was the longest I rode alone.

That’s a great challenge that you faced and turned into a positive! When I hurt myself running last year and couldn’t run I thought for sure I’d gain weight. I was angry, depressed and scared for about two weeks. Then I got my butt in gear and started lifting weights. I lost weight too! A lot in fact!

Are you planning on continuing to ride all the way with some consistency? Good for the environment AND your health! 🙂

    1. Lisa Eirene

That is the plan! And I *think* I can continuing riding into Fall. I have warm cycling clothes. I just won’t bike in the rain.

Nice job! Over 12 miles to get to work is respectable. My commute is about 8.
I rode in to campus today and was able to make it all the way up the hills in downtown (I come from the broadway bridge to PSU) without having to stop and walk the bike at all, for the first time! It felt great!

I ran up Broadway during the Shamrock 8k. HOLY COW. The Portland Century bike ride starts at PSU I think. I hope it goes downhill from there. 😉

Nicely done! I haven’t rode to work in a couple of weeks, I need to get back at it! That is a long commute to tackle on the bike – good for you!

It was a long commute but I liked it!
