When did you purchase your HRM, during your weight loss or when you reached maintenance? I have one, but have not calibrated it yet for myself. This is shameful since it was a Christmas gift :(. So I don’t know how far off the machines are for me at my current weight, but I am curious to find out. I was exercising regularly until we moved and since then we haven’t joined a gym. We are looking forward to taking advantage of the New Year’s specials very soon.

Just wanted to say that you look great!

      Thank you Lisa! 🙂

I got my HRM as a birthday gift when I was in maintenance mode a few years ago. I’d never had one before and I had not idea I even NEEDED it. But getting one changed the way I worked out. I was smarter. I was more efficient in my workouts. And I loved seeing the results! I am so glad I have it and I really suggest you start using yours. You don’t think it will make a difference until you see the numbers in black and white. Plus, you can see your heart rate, which is good when you see you are in your zone. If you’re not in your zone, you work harder. If you’re over your zone you can adjust your speed.

I’ve been wanting a HR monitor. I’m glad you like yours. I know machines always overestimate calories burned (maybe because they compensate for men and their awesomely high metabolisms???) but elliptical is the worst. Maybe I should start looking into them again.

The treadmill is often more accurate than the elliptical. I have no idea why.

First- you look awesome! You work hard for it and deserve every inch of happiness!!

What heart rate monitor would you recommend? I want to ask for one for Christmas and wondered what your thoughts were? Thanks for any help!!!
